Turning a silicone product idea into a finished product follows a clear sequence. Understanding the stages — and what to prepare at each one — keeps your project on time and on budget.
1. Inquiry & Requirements
Share everything you have: drawings, 3D files, samples, or even a rough sketch with dimensions. Include target quantity, target price and any certification requirements. This lets the manufacturer confirm feasibility and quote accurately.
2. DFM Review & Quotation
Engineers run a design-for-manufacturing (DFM) review to optimize wall thickness, undercuts and tolerances, then provide an itemized quotation covering material, mold tooling and unit price.
3. Mold Tooling & Sampling
On approval, the mold is CNC machined and first-shot samples are produced for your review. Samples let you validate color, hardness, texture and dimensions before committing to volume.
4. Mass Production
Approved parts move to production with in-process quality control (IPQC). Materials are verified against certification requirements and production follows your approved specification.
5. Final Inspection & Delivery
Every batch passes outgoing quality control (OQC), is packaged to your requirements and shipped with full export documentation.
A common delay is skipping the DFM step — a few small design adjustments early can save weeks and reduce mold rework later.
